THE CRUCIBLE: January 14-16
The Crucible is a 1953 play by Arthur Miller, set during the 1692 Salem witch trials, that serves as an allegory for the McCarthy-era anti-communist "witch hunts" in 1950s America, exploring themes of mass hysteria, reputation, integrity, and the dangers of political paranoia. The drama follows the story of John Proctor, a farmer whose wife is accused of witchcraft, as he confronts his own sins and the town's descent into fear-driven accusations, ultimately forcing him to choose between his name and the truth.
